Dreamiecloud - Energie + Why (Single)

Literally, at the finish line of 2021, I was put on to Dallas songstress Dreamiecloud by way of multiple followers of ours posting about her content throughout their IG stories. At exactly 10:25 pm CST on New Year's Eve, I sat with two of her most recent singles, “Energie” & “Why,” which I extremely treasured very much since they were both beautiful ballads with distinctive routes. Each provided a bit of harmony and creativity that did an excellent job of introducing us to her angelic vocals. Now I couldn’t decide which of the two to write about since I enjoyed them both, so I said fuck it and decided to share a bit of a breakdown for both records.

Energie - The start of the track is so majestic; as the beat builds, the vocals' presence grows until *boom* at fast-pace, it hits you with this groovy wave. She is not one to divulge into drugs but is willing to take a dosage of you since the feeling of being with you is an addiction that she’s hooked on & wants more to consume. The record has this pop fusion to it that moves you throughout the track even when it reaches the middle of the record, where she slows down the tempo so you can hear more of her ethereal vocals shine bright then hopping back to the sped-up vocals that secure an excellent take in anyone listening experience of the record.

Why - The record starts with this soulful feel right out the gate, and immediately then Dreamiecloud begins repeating “So Why You Got To Be Like That” in such a harmonious way that I can’t get enough of and perfectly structures the whole song around it. The record is sung beautifully, but the tale of second-guessing your love is the painful part of the track. She speaks on the trauma of this love not appearing to be the match made in heaven she thought she had; arguing & fighting has led her to look closer at her relationship, and she now sees better than their insecure turn the blame on her. She’s sick of receiving the backlash but not no more; she’s calling him out and seeking for them to take responsibility for their heinous actions. It’s a powerful transition from her previously mentioned track and possibly one of my new favorites from any artist we’ve talked about in the year.

I’m excited to see what the future holds for her; I know the next upcoming track she previewed will be a bit zestier than her previous joints, and it sounds like she’s tackling more of the Spanish direction, which is going to be insane. Expect to see more of her content appear on the site and get familiar with her now by checking out these two records here while sharing them around on all social media platforms.
