Thoweda Rosas - Trip & Trap (Album)

Since September of last year, ThowedaRosas has been riding a wave of releases, with his first single “Contemplate” already erupting his name in the list of artists to be familiar with in Texas. Since then, he’s had success with tracks like “Trap Hard,” “Fake Luv,” & his fan-favorite record “Water” that helped build him an intensive fanbase that would lead to his album dropping towards the end of August titled “Trip & Trap.” The album is a powerful glimpse into the come-up of ThrowedaRosas’s career. From carrying the lone star state on his back while heading to sunny California to create this album. It’s poised with heavy down south influences shadowing over the palm trees skies, vastly becoming a beacon as the Travis Country savior on to the next chapter in his journey.

The interludes are an excellent dialogue connected to the story structure of the records they surround. Take the record “Travis County,” where he’s putting in the work to carry the place that produces the hustler he is whenever he roams ahead. The weight you pull in might be different from his, but the grind & work he’s putting in get results that you can’t make. Roasting a cone or two while vibing to the beat keeps Rosas in the place of relaxation, and ain’t nobody breaking that from him. The infectious chorus of “Water” is always going to be a delightful single that you can never get rid of, try it and guarantee you won’t last for a few seconds. Another single like that is “Sky’s Falling,” which is a slow tempo joint that will have crossing bridges of clouds to the other side while balancing out the highs & lows of your day. I love how the cover art symbolizes many vices & southern appeal, which is what he brings to his flow. It takes a vivid look into his artistry and reflects it with a passionate draw. When ballads like “If I Lost Today” & “Voices In My Head” share a more profound concern with the emotions he goes through that he can’t share with anybody but feels comfortable to vent out to his listeners who know that they will listen when he lets it out. I appreciate artists that can be versatile when they need to, especially Rosas, where at one point he’s lighting up the atmosphere with a track and then the next where he’s enduring more of his good-natured status. One of my favorite singles off the album is “Yah!” since I think it’s a perfect combination of his multilevel styles being adjusted to a whole entity, making it a redemption record for him. Through the many combative vices that plagued his existence, it made him be the person he is today., He doesn’t let it affect him on his path and embraces it as an ongoing strategy for him to achieve a better place in life. A perfect description of this would be “A Week Ago,” which cleans up the project perfectly for any listener to be satisfied within 38 minutes of your day.

ThowedaRosas didn’t make an album but a game-changer to where this is something new to digest and witness a new future of rap. From the singles to the visual, lastly to the project that will lead by greatness on what the future has ahead for him next. We highly recommend you check out the album here while sharing it around on all social media avenues.
