Angel Cintron - Hometown, Pt. 2 (Single)
If you’re familiar with “Hometown,” then you understand how important this sequel is. The record is not only an Angel Cintron classic but just one overall, so to follow it up with a sequel that honestly kind of blows it out of the water is an astonishing feat, but then again, it’s Angel. If you know her work, you know she’s more than capable of crafting outstanding records & notice I say great & not good cause I really mean that. It’s hit after hit when it comes to her & on “Hometown, Pt. 2”, she shows zero signs of that slowing down anytime soon. Be warned before going into this review; this record shattered my glass heart cause it’s a subject that really hits home for me, ironically.
I’ve recently found myself in a situation like this, where I’ve kind of forced her to take the lead & be in her command instead of the other way around. Vowing to change & never following through with it, that’s manipulative & frankly, women do not have the time for it. They do not have time for you not dealing with your unresolved issues within yourself cause if you aren’t careful, those deep-seated issues can manifest themselves into insecurity & maybe even jealousy. It’s a shame that many of us men are still stuck in our conditioning, or perhaps we’re just flat out ignorant. Either way, it’s something that we need to unlearn; her success should be yours & vice versa. That’s healthy, but if you’d rather continue your pattern of abuse, cause that’s what it is, then she’s going to have to leave you at home cause clearly she isn’t home to you.
It’s funny cause it directly correlates to my situation; I knew this person was slipping away. After all, I was allowing her to slip through my fingers instead of supporting her on her journey like I used to always do. Without any expectation of reciprocity cause, she doesn’t owe you anything & neither do you. She’s clearly fine on her own & no longer requires the services you once offered her. You know she has dreams & goals just like you, so why would you stand in the way of those things. Even if you’re upset about how things wound up, you have to get over it at some point & move forward with your life cause time don’t wait for anybody & though our hometowns shall no longer be the same, change is necessary.
