AMEA - Sistas (Single)

AMEA has been slowly & patiently creeping up on listeners as of last year, which is when I 1st caught wind of her, but that was when “Light Years” came my way. Still, I must say, already I’ve been nothing short of impressed & judging from the cover art, which has the same feel of “Last Cry,” we may be getting an EP or a full-length release sometime soon. Both of these singles revolve around empowerment, but this time, it’s strictly for her “Sistas,” a title which she does not say in vain. I’ve always felt people pass around terms as such relatively too lightly but not in this case.

Support systems are essential to have. People you can just be vulnerable around without fear of judgment, people who will be there for you during the lowest of lows, not just the highest of highs, people who keep it real, sometimes without even having to claim it. She’s going to ride for hers, no matter what they need, because she’s confident they would do the same. They clearly have shown up time & time again when it was needed the most, so whatever they need, she’s there without question. Irrespective of any adversity or tension that may have once between them, they love & support one another enough to set pride aside to simply be there.

I love that AMEA was so concise with expressing the power of togetherness, I think it’s been made more of a focal point since everything has been shut down, but now we’re slowly beginning to get some normalcy back into our lives. Maybe soon we can get back to our brothers and sisters; it’s been too long. It’s just felt right for her to state how much her “Sistas” means to her. You never know what this life entails. Anything can happen, so it’s crucial we cherish one another instead of bickering over differences; togetherness will always be essential.
