Awkwardlowlife - Wrong Life (Album)
Sometimes, all it takes is leading the "Wrong Life" to get us to realize that we need to make things right & that's pretty much the central thesis here with Awkwardlowlife & J Allan's opus. Ten glimpses into his chaotically beautiful life, full of raw testimonials & poignant pain, opening up with the previously released "Over Me," which finds him dealing with the loneliness that comes with this path he's on. All he has is himself & family; at the end of it all. He has no time to waste with the type of time everybody else is on & he's played those games on the street & it's only resulted in red & blue "Lights" haunting him in not only his nightmares but his daydreams as well. The paciness of the record exhibiting just how much of a rush it all was for him.
Still hell-bent for leather on "IDC," he's recklessly running around in circles, repeating the same behavioral patterns that have had him so stuck in a rut but he's too far gone to pay it any mind. At least until his demons catch up with him on the paranoia-inducing "MTROTR," the ominous feel of the record fully showcasing how unsettling it can be to live life just dangling off that precipice. Only to result in more "Bad Luck," he refuses to imagine a world without his love. Still, questions whether or not they're a compatible match, for all that ever seems to come from it is distortion. However, his heart is still very much invested; it's all he is, stating that this was "All Me," taking full accountability for the destruction he's caused, but he'll be damned if he lets it all break him down that easily.
Things start to get more hopeful at this point as he reminisces on simpler times with the Pop Punk laced "Hot Box," even has a reference to one of his best tracks, "20 Buck$", which is perfect being that Pauliiito delivers another great verse on the irresistible "Gotham." Feel good yet melancholy as both artists match one another's energy effortlessly. They can't help but enjoy the thrill of the rollercoaster & though the person he's with doesn't know what she sees in him. She's too curious to not stay up "All Night Long" with him to see where it's all going to lead to; one thing for sure though, they ain't never getting "No Sleep," they just going to keep partying the pain away, cause shit is real.
