Ceehaze - Black Palmz (Album)

I'm glad to see The Mob pushing out more fresh content; Lito with his prior collaborations, AwkLow with his album & now Ceehaze is up, returning with his longly anticipated "Black Palmz" opus. This album is the perfect blend of what was exhibited on its predecessors "Title To My Pain" & "Last Night Alive," TTMP showcasing his skills as an MC & LNA showcasing his abilities to craft infectious melodies, leaning more towards what he's able to do as an artist vocally speaking. He's opening this project up with LNA vibes with "Gajin," where he reflects on what it took to get to this moment & how much faster he's speeding towards where he wants to be in life. He has each line zipping right past him like the events he's describing did back when he was enduring them.

"Bun B" is more of that flexercising Ceehaze does so well, meshing his skills as a solo MC while also making it sound catchy as hell. He's too locked in on his art that he "Can't (Fall in Love)" with anything other than the music. He's fading off into the blackout on the overbearing trap instrumentations of "Vitalago," which very pleasingly melts its way into the lounging interlude "Slide." This is precisely what he does, right into the next record, the previously released "Foolclip," probably the perfect utilization of all of his skills as an artist, personable, braggy & vibes on top of vibes. Still, he's trying to leave all that behind, no time left to spare on mere fools trying to drag him back down to where he's been tirelessly working on getting away from in life. He's doing some more reflecting around "3:33 AM", this game he's playing comes with a lot of fuck shit. Still, he tackles it all head-on with swaggering confidence.

Amazingly, he can make these street-influenced records but still give it that vibey sound to lure you in & by the time you're immersed within his soundscapes, you're able to hear the pain that's exuded on these records. He doesn't want to have to "Lay You Down.", he just doesn't play; he'll do whatever is necessary for whatever situation he may find himself in. He got that "Brand New Ting" on him & it's "Clutch AF," always coming in when he needs it to & whatever happens after his hand is gripped on it is on him when he wants to be. He can be the "Soulkeeper," those souls being just another "Facetat," another tear to add to his face & if your eyes ain't on him after this, then the tears are just going to keep falling down his face.
