K Shiday - Tell Me Now (Single)
It’s 11/11, which means today is Veterans Day, where we celebrate our military men and women for the sacrifices they put in for our freedom. One of our favorite military vets & rappers happens to be the prestigious K Shiday, who’s commemorating K Day today as well to bless her fans an early listen to a new single titled “Tell Me How.” The single is slated to be on her anticipated project, “JukeBox.” The track just dropped today, but I stayed up late last night to get a first listen in and make sure to have a review so we can celebrate this special day with her.
It’s no surprise that K Shiday’s wordsmith ability is notorious for being one of the most lethal structures in the rap game and not even for a female but an artist in general. We’ve got plenty of examples of it already, but this latest single is slightly different since she wears her heart on her sleeve for the record and gets a little more personal about her relationships. She explains being head over heels when he’s sending her messages throughout the day that make her smile, yet she doesn’t want to get caught up, so she keeps her feelings hidden. She doesn’t know where this relationship is headed yet, but she’s upfront that she wants him to be her king while she plays the role of the queen. No need to beat around the bush; she wants you to tell her if this love is real so she can further pursue it and let her guard down a little. I like how in the middle of the track, when speaking on the intimate moments she wants to have with him; she whispers as she’s telling him a secret for only him to hear. It’s such a small piece in the record but essential to showcase how genuine her love is and what this means to her. You can listen to K Shiday’s soul flourishing throughout the track, and while she holds a bit of gangster to her feelings, she wants the real thing as long as your serious as she is. Tell her now while you have here, or the next person will, and you’ll regret it forever.
This single being the first preview of her upcoming project, tells a lot of indication already that we’re getting the best of K Shiday on here. I’m excited to see the tracklist for the project surface here soon, and she has also announced that we should be seeing another project released from her before the year is up.
