Triyona - Maybe (Single)
Yesterday evening while working on another visual done by videographer The Girl V, we saw she had recently finished a visual for songstress Triyona titled “Maybe.” The video instantly interested me since it shared a detailed look into someone attempting not to stress the little things, especially heartbreak and living life the way she wants, with vices drowning her days forward with more behind the veil to embark into.
Once again, this isn’t a heartbreak song; Triyona is venting while looking to get her drank on for the moment. Pass the lighters to get her spliff roasting in her fingertips; she’s not running from anything and needs to get her mind off minuscule things. She then begins to dwell on why she keeps on getting inebriated every night, unable to feel her face after the intoxication, which could be her trying to forget the somber past. Sitting down and thinking with a sober mind can be the worst of it for her. She doesn’t want to contemplate what could’ve happened if things were different or even have the feeling of wanting them back. She pours herself empty every night to not go through the what-if scenarios; she just wants to let it go and move on. Yet the feeling inside of her knows what’s best, which is why she submerges it in alcohol and smokes for the nights. If she says it isn’t about heartbreak, it doesn’t hurt as much, but the pain is too revealing, especially with the way she croons her soul out. You can sense immediately that she is deep in sorrow, and this record has her heart crying out. It’s a powerful tale of grief after the romance. She wants to be whole again, and you can hear it, but the anguish is too much to bear, so she pushes it down deep in hopes to have it never surface again.
This video was an excellent introduction to her content and made me a new fan instantly. I will be keeping her close on our radar for future releases and hoping our viewers can start recognizing her talents and get more familiar. Be sure to check out the video here while sharing it around on all social media platforms.
