Quico - Heartache (Single)

New unexpected release from the artist formerly known as Izaq Roland since his two-year hiatus. On this contemporary ballad, he went under his moniker Quico for this new record titled “Heartache.” It brings back the baritone sound of Quico’s emotional draw that he’s done before in such joints like “IDFWU” or “Bury Me,” yet it sounds more mystical here as if he shifted the tone to be more pleasant but still feeling the eerie passion drown out his sorrow.

The chorus is mesmerizing as he uses the fame video of Gucci Mane letting his Bart chain smoke to shallow in his heartache woes. He’s tearing down the memories he’s had with this particular person as Quico states he’s asking them to leave, and he means it this time. It’s powerful imagery as we can hear the pain come out of Quico’s vocals shredding off to a distant abyss where his now wasted feeling resides. He wears his heart on his sleeve and is aching for this suffering to end, but he’s off the deep end looking for vices to take over the thoughts for him.

This single being the first release from Quico in that year stretch could mean more content like this could be following up real soon. He did drop a visual to go along with it, which is a change-up from his usual fashion of releases, which means he could have taken time off to work on music and is now ready to share it with the world. We’ll be paying close attention to see how he moves through social media since he’s reticent on there, but I’m sure his frequent collaborators will share things here and there for him. Until more is surface, be sure to check out the record here and the video while sharing both on all available social media platforms.
