Kayyroe - Down (Single)

On her first release since her 2019 debut “Organically Grown,” highly recommended, by the way, the heavens are falling. It’s spiraling in & out of love of sorts, a soft tuned ballad she has with “Down.” She’s willing to fall cause; eventually, it all does, let it be the walls you continue to put up or the ones that were already there, no more seeing the relationship through rose-colored glasses. Clearly, they don’t work cause everything is wilted & all that’s left are thorns in her side.

She’s tired of falling out of love & also tired of not being in it. It’s hard to tell people’s intentions cause I think we tend just to show our partners the sides of us we think they’ll like & try to mask the rest of the qualities they may find repugnant. Still, that can only work for so long until that mask becomes who you are; it’s all going to come flooding out eventually & inevitably. Hence, it’s better not to play mind games & just be straightforward with her cause too much time has been wasted & she isn’t sure she’s willing to give any more of it away.

I’ve been patiently awaiting more music from Kayyroe since her debut. She’s been doing damage control, just killing shit since with the modeling & little snippets here & there of what’s to come, all leading up to this 1st dose of what she no doubt has in store for the year. Be it more singles or a possible sophomore effort, we’re all here for her versatility as an artist, this song doubling down on her singing chops & no longer plucking rose petals, playing love me, love me not, how about you don’t waste her time?
