ZootedHeist - Dreams & Demons (Album)
After releasing singles all through 2020 while working hard to get a project out, ZootedHeist entered 2021 with his newly released EP titled "Dreams & Demons," which has production from the likes of YungE, 410TheLoop, Jacob Sinay & J Allan. The 9-track project is full of Heist's melodic draw that he's known for, yet expanding on the sound for years, he's shown tremendous growth that you can hear in his music that gives off a well-lit listening experience to enjoy over and over again.
The introduction "Don't Know Me" is symbolized by a female in his life treating him like a stranger. She knows he's out there on the grind but is jealous, knowing that his time isn't focused on her. He's drowning in different emotions that prevent him from letting her know his true feeling but while he's steady sticking to the script he can only hope that she'll wait for him if he let her know how much she's mean to him. Another exceptional ballad off the EP would be the track "Codeine," in which he describes the screwed up nature of those treating street struggles like a lifestyle but not knowing the real pain behind it. He describes moments in his life where he spent all his time paper chasing and didn't even eat for months in the process. Vices played a part in these choices he's made, but he's making it right from the years of doing wrong. Tracks that help you enter into his psyche are ones like "Make This Happen" & "2Faded," while the rest combined paints the canvas of him battling his demons that were welcome in his dreams and created a series of chaos that now leaves him battered but not defeated. Powerful EP from beginning to end and showcases his emerging signature to create a soundscape of his life's come up and downs to relate to a listener's experience.
With the recent exposure that the project has been getting, Heist will double down on with visuals coming soon, not dates on them yet, but we've been told they're coming quickly. In the meantime, be sure that you're listening to the project while sharing it around on social media platforms.
