Mateo is one of the city's juggernauts MC's; when he comes stomping through which you know he means business. His lyricism bullies the listeners & competition alike into submission till we're on our knees, begging for forgiveness for either crossing him or sleeping on him. Maybe questioning his skills as a lyricist as every fickle fan seems to do, but nope, nothing questionable about Big Sun; you need the Sun & the Sun is big & he provides you with everything you need.

With the subtle announcement of his upcoming "Next Sunday" EP, Mateo drops off the lead single "Money Affairs" & its classic Sun. Braggadociously ferocious & unapologetically in your face, Sun drops easily memorable Quotables, referencing things like Motorola beepers, rope chains & Queen Latifah. He's deep-rooted in this culture, in this Hip Hop scene. Still, his lyricism lets you know that he'll never be generous enough to hit you in the face with a wad of cash but generous enough to punch you in the face lyrically to prevent it from happening to you in the future hopefully.
