Jay Wile - Better Times (EP)
Keeping R&B lively & dynamic, Jay Wile follows up last year's masterclass of love & harmony with his "Bloom Series," since then, the universe has found itself in shambles. Still, Wile is here for the "Better Times," & we're here anxiously awaiting to be guided by him, so let's do just that.
The Caribbean ocean feels automatically on "Don't Be Late," instantly sets time back a decade, easily could've been a hit of the 2010s. It bleeds into more island feels on the subdued reggae of "Real Bad," I can feel the festivity and the heat from the exotic bonfire dancers are performing the antic hay around.
Akshara joins Wile for the duet "Anyway," more freshness from undoubtedly old souls, "Can't Wait" & "Lifetime" are minimalist house numbers that will stop dance floors globally with their futuristic vibes. While "Right Soon" is acoustic airiness, it's some of his most eccentric work, yet throughout this EP, that'll surely bring listeners some better times spent.
