Slickback Wetback - Griselda (EP)

Griselda without a doubt is one of the biggest acts to impact the culture in recent years, inspiring countless artists to follow in their footsteps cause they can see that well if it worked for them, it can work for me & few have exemplified that more than Slickback.

Most likely, he’s fusing his own story or stories from people he’s seen with that of Benny’s street tales, kinda like a double biography & the same with Conway’s story & Gunn’s.

The concept & storytelling on all 3 is superb, the cover art resembles that of something that would come out of this camp or better yet Gunn’s artistic mind, notice how each of the beats sound like the artist the titles are named after, the more slow flowing grime of “Conway”, the eerie sounding villainy of “Westside Gunn” & the street hop of “Benny”, each MC could’ve been on each track but Slickback carries himself just fine on his own.
