Highstrung feat Aliza1K - Told Em (Single)
Towards the end of October, Highstrung had been flooding the timelines on all social media with shots of him and fellow rapstress Aliza1K in a wrestling crowd, front back & side to side in a low rider & some others ones with a gang of people surrounding them. It was unclear at first what we were seeing, but it didn't take long for Highstrung to follow it up with behind the scene footage of an upcoming visual from the two titled "Told Em." The record sounded clean from the teaser alone and had many wanting to know when it was coming, but there was no release date as of yet when it would be surfacing. Highstrung would take an entire month of promoting the visual with it seeing well-over 3.7K views plus 160 shares on social media alone yet still no date on when it be coming out, which held the full release to even higher expectations. Highstrung is a man of importance; he played this so-well since he left every promo with the text "Coming Real Soon" and had people waiting on standby with each updated status he did on social media (marketing god). Still, on the first week of December, he announced both the visual & record would be released on Sunday, Dec 7th at 3pm that had many eyes, including ours, glued to YouTube at that very minute when it hit 3'o clock on the dot.
The Cooley Films-directed visual starts with DeaconRap channeling his inner Scott Hall showing off his machismo style before entering the ring. Cooling it, kicking it, and doing what they do, the duo starts with the record with an impactful chorus + hook before launching into Aliza1k's hard-hitting verse. Looking for pressure, you know where to find her; deep in the east, she looks like a savage. Play with her paper, and you will end up missing; start running man, running man before you go ghost, and while your testing her patience, learn that she's here for the long run, so get used to the flexing. Don't play with her resume; she's been making hits after hits, so go somewhere else with that bullshit and let her get back to stacking up the checks. Transitioning into the chorus, it then rolls over with Highstrung to start his verse masked up but not from corona; he's headshotting the opps while he's stacking the kills. Stop bitting his style; this man is the blueprint, he's coming for the win, and you just behind him taking down notes. Grown man business, and he's talking his shit just like Adrian Broner, but the difference he's backing it up, so jump out of his space or stay too long, and you might feel hooks in your face. Don't come up short with Highstrung, especially if it involves the feature price; pay him the full cut, and you'll have a hit like this in your catalog. The record is insane, and the visual matches it's caliber so well, especially with the atmospheric element of the people in it vibing all together and feeling free as one entity makes it an incredible viewing. The chemistry that Highstrung and Aliza cooked up in this track is an appetite that can accommodate many listeners to consume over and over, with seconds being an option every time.
In only 24 hours, the visual is getting deserved praise for the lyricism, the production, and the people who had their hand in bringing this video together. This joint will hold us over until the release of his anticipated album "L.Y.F.E." with no date on it yet, but if this recent drop goes to show you when it comes to Highstrung, the wait is always worth it. Be sure to stream the single here while running up the views on the visual, and make sure to show both on all available social media platforms.
