Masego - Studying Abroad (EP)

On his 1st release since 2018’s elevatingly infatuating “Lady Lady,” Masego takes things overseas with his “Studying Abroad” EP. He’s got his “Passport,” ready to leave the rough routines in the past where they belong & continues searching for himself. Hopefully, finding beautiful, beneficial things along the way, there’s nothing wrong with seeking anew. Eventually, you get stuck in a pattern & before you know it, you’ve been in it too long & just want something different & that’s what Masego is looking for, regardless of who’s trying to hold him back.

This project takes us to him, partying the pain away on “Silver Tongue Devil,” a beautifully jiggy dancehall floor stopper. It’s impossible not to tango to this one, him & Shenseea bouncing off each other with such healing prowess. However, I think he’s more intrigued by this “Mystery Lady” he keeps seeing around & calls on Don Toliver to assist him in lulling her in.

Masego has a lot of love to give on the airy atmospheres of “Polygamy,” a free-floating subtle ballad for the ages. So many sides to this enigmatic artist & if you wish to be around him, you have to accept all these aspects which create his real character & if you won’t then it’s “Bye Felicia,” ain’t nobody got time for any of that, enough with the games, are you down or what?
