D2x - Family Business (Single)

During the weekend, D2x released a personalized record titled “Family Business,” where he dishes out family drama, his uncle’s bid behind bars to come back home, and the future that beholds for his kin & wife. This single is something new we haven’t heard from D2x in the past, yet venting on musical content helps the coping process, and if this is a way to help him get it off his chest, then we as the listeners/therapist need to hear it with care and empathy.

Quis is behind the boards for this track, in which he supplied the ink to get the D2x pen moving forward. He starts off the track by preaching what most artists will resonate with; he’s devising multiple opportunities to make it out and don’t know if it’ll work. Still, he has family by his side, but they think he’s switched up on them along with the rest of his friends that feel the same way. He’s pressured with how the world is moving; he reminiscent of a time when he came up properly but feared those around him had ill intent towards him. Still, he has responsibilities for his kid and his wife, so he prays like a saint in hopes of keeping his blessings coming. The last verse of the track hit home since I know the feeling of seeing a family member behind bars to then finally coming home and making it up for the time they missed out on by spending time with family & friends. Still, D2x thinks of that memory and still feels like he’s in the grievance with the world where his guard is up even more, and the success is for the taking no matter how many friends he loses or family member he hurts, he wants the glory, but the price of fame isn’t worth it for him. This lifestyle isn’t his mission; he’s God gifted and was brought to this world to do his work positively; hearing it in his music now, I can sense that feeling that I know he’ll embark successfully in his new founded journey with music.
