Wvmkr & Jashaun Gray - Mirror, Mirror (Album)
Suppose you’re ridden hard then put away wet. In that case, this is the album for you, for those whom the world has beaten “Black & Blue,” Wvmkr splashes through while Jashuan Grey surfs through ever so gracefully. Letting the wind at his back blow away all his troubles rather than deprive his sails of it & the two charge it to the dust. Let the rain settle things on their meditatively reflective collaborative effort, fittingly titled “Mirror, Mirror.”
Jashuan lies in the Elysian Fields on “Paradise,” not a soul in sight to separate himself from the ills of the world cause this life can be too much to bare sometimes. However, this life he’s leading is a unique experience & one he wouldn’t trade for the world, which is as good as it gets; all we can do is find some inner peace before we can be in charge of our own happiness. He’s choosing to stay lifted & our spirits can’t help but follow suit; it’s the most bittersweet moment on the melancholic album.
We all deserve to “Feel Good” as we should, despite the difficulties we face. Do whatever gives you the pleasure you’re seeking out of life, the two encouraging listeners to “Open Your Mind” & find a way to fill that “Void” in your heart, “we’re all addicts,” a more accurate sentiment hasn’t been cried. We all are in one way or another & the daunting tones of “Illusional Thomas” remind us how dark & dejected our demons can make us feel, so it’s best not to enter the midnight zone & keep our heads above water.
