Last year pandemic halted many events throughout the globe with no set sign that things would be going back to normal again. Little by little, people started staying healthy & social distancing that shifted for the better, including vaccines being available to everyone in the last few weeks. This news started changing things at a more favorable pace that had many promoters taking safety precautions to bring back events to the forefronts of 2021. Fort Worth entertainment company Premier Live Experience with Smooth Vega & prominent festival organization Fortress Presents began their notoriety of bringing out some of the best events, with their latest announcement yesterday morning being the leading declaration of them all.

With the grand opening of Wild Acre Live, a two-stage outdoor venue in Fort Worth, beginning to start on July 31st. It was announced they have collaborated with the two dominant promoters to bring a festival with the name Centro Popular aimed to be a Latino lead-event. Performances by King Lil G, Frankie J, Twista, Krystall Poppin, Baby Bash, xBValentine, Louie TheSinger & more would be setting the stage ablaze and christening the newly built stage to welcome in an exciting cultural push forward. As mentioned on Fort Worth magazine, Smooth Vega said this festival holds a personal meaning to him since he looks at it as an homage to his mother's record shop with the same name, which they were well-known for selling Latin music. It's a meaningful inspiration that I know he holds this very close to him and will work to see it become a notable event in the Hispanic community. Some of the artists on the lineup have spoken very highly of the upcoming festival, with Frankie J stating that he's excited to be back on stage and gives us a little more insight into what this means to him. He quoted that "I believe music has a special healing power, and it will heal many of the pains that the world went through in 2020". Topping it off with "This is why I'm glad to get back to shows, touring and seeing major crowds gather to celebrate life and freedom through music”. Other artists like Louie TheSinger & xBValentine, who will also be performing at the festival, have said some words of their own about what's this means to them. Louie is very humbled that he was asked to be a part of this event and even more grateful to be part of this fantastic lineup. He shares that "Being an artist, I never did things for recognition, but they always felt good. It was kind of like a light reminder that what your doing is paying off". He ends the quote with a closing offer of giving the people a chance to hear his music before the event to be more familiar with him when he hits the stage. xBValentine shares the same sentimental feeling of her own, mentioning that being asked to perform is an exciting venture for her. She expresses, "This is my first time doing a festival this big & it means a lot that we'll be able to represent for our Latin community as a whole," which is a powerful meaning. She even stated that if she wasn't on the lineup, she still buy tickets to attend the festival, which means she believes in this being a monumental event in the making.

There's a lot to be happy about with this announcement, especially for those still concerned about COVID. I know Fortress co-founder Ramtin Nikzad has stated that they will be taking COVID-19 protocols very seriously. He does hope with the open space area that restriction might be a little less lenient with masks still highly encourage if you plan to make your way out on July 31st. The announcement gives us more hope to be back on the field of shows and events, which we hope more can take the necessary precautions to get us back and feeling the same a few years ago. Step by step, we are getting back in the right direction, and Centro Popular is a huge step forward that I think we need as a musical community of people of all colors enjoying what we love: the music. Tickets are available now through the link we will have posted below which we hope to see many come and attend an amazing event.
