The Deep End with Aliza1K in Self Made
Aliza is like your problems, “Self Made” & she comes through swinging on her latest, this shit is like clockwork to her but difference is, with each release, her everything gets more sharper, proving time & time again that she alone is a force to be reckoned with, she’s here to inspire while simultaneously chewing up beats & spitting them out with disgust, stank faces galore, tapping deeper into that heart she so fiercely wears on her sleeve at all times, this is power music, fork in the outlet type ish so shall we shock our senses now?
1. “Worry Bout Me”
Instantly, these bitches is intimidated, worried about the wrong one, it’s silly cause she’s not getting in the way of you getting yours just cause she’s getting hers, she’s a spitter with much conviction, here to dump the shit she’s shoveled all her life onto those who continue to despise her on her way up, just cause they on their way down.
TMU3X gives Aliza a triumphantly daunting soundscape to snarl over with this introduction to the album, a fiery start, firing from all cylinders imaginable, nobody in her path is safe, there may be some innocent bystanders but it’s all collateral, she’s clearly not holding shit back on this album as shit is only gonna continue to hit the fan.
2. “$elf Made”
TMU3X picks back up where the intro left off with an even more warped yet haunting subtly for Aliza to continue hitting everything within her sniper scope, references to Crime Mob & 50 Cent, nothing like a little homage, something some of you bitches, men and women, mostly men in this male dominated space should learn how to incorporate into your every day lives, giving props where it’s due but if not, it’s fine, just don’t be surprised when Aliza snatches respect from you forcibly, just to throw it back in your face cause she don’t need anything from you, she’s doing just fine getting it on her own.
3. “2 RAW” W/ Velly
This is like an expansion of “New Phone” Lonzy Los Lucid (I love alliteration so good looking) has going on here, but an entirely different beast with Aliza calling back upon Velly, who was on this tape’s predecessor “1 of 1” on the cut “Disney”, they “2 bad bitches but with 2 very different flows” that compliment each other yet again with what may be another hit for Aliza & again, the skill level is just razor sharp, she’s never slacking in terms of bars & surely not in her best selection, her ear growing as menacing by the second as her pen is & Velly proving to be a mainstay on Aliza albums from this point forward, the chemistry is too beautiful.
4. “Paid In Full”
These beats & these rhymes are not letting up, Kevin The Kid supplying the sounds this time around & just like Aliza, in this battle to attain even more success, she as well as he are landing every single punch, not giving the listener a single chance to block the blows, striking the listener from all corners, guess that’s why they call it surround sound as Aliza is just bullying the beat so brashly that all that is left is beyond black & blue, like she beat her bars with literal bars, so dope that she’s spitting them out like she hid them under her tongue, not a single misstep thus far.
5. “Prices” W/ Vondell
Aliza is recognizing her ever rising worth as, not only an artist but overall & if you want this heat she consistently supplies, you gonna have to pay her however much she wishes to charge, time is money & she don’t got time to be wasting either & over Johnny V production, someone she worked with extensively last tape, supplies her with something even more portending than the previous work they’ve done together & Aliza is just having fun being her own braggy self, to which she has every right to be being how hard she worked to get to this moment, she refuses to take her feet off the gas, calling on Vondell to add to the hyphy feel of the record & that he does gracefully.
6. “A.L.I.Z.A”
Like “Sike” but on steroids, Aliza takes what’s worked for her in the past & just antes that shit up tenfold throughout this project so far, even finding a subtle pocket to do some slight double timing on this record, she came from the bottom bottom so she’s knocking anyone down the ladder she’s climbing to get to the pinnacle she’s undoubtedly gonna reach with passion & fury like this, it’s gonna cost you 1K to get all this smoke & most may fear her prowess on the mic & try to talk her down to a lower price or get her to go hard but not too cray but Aliza ain’t having none of that, she came to rap circles around people, she can’t help it & just wait til you hear what the acronym for her name stands for, brilliant too how she made it all rhyme.
7. “Tony”
This shit sound like Tony Montana slamming his face into a pile of cocaine, the paranoia of her adversaries breaking into her fortress, managing to do nothing but dig their own graves cause Aliza is too precise a killer, unlimited head shots when she or her “family & figures” are threatened, nobody is exempt from receiving her wrath, be it men trying to shoot their shot at her, miss her with that or hater trying to keep her down, usually those same dudes who couldn’t get at her & while she has been humble for the most part, she knows people may not take her so serious so she’s been making damn sure that they have no other choice but to be fearful of her narcissistic tendencies & when you spit like this, you have every right to put your foot down.
8. “Listen” W/ Unique Redd
Aliza hopes you’re listening to her story, it’s been a rough one, she’s helped many along her journey but when she’s needed them, they nowhere to be found, probably just waiting for the second she really blows up to come back around, asking for the same handouts they were asking for before, but with an even stronger, more palpable sense of entitlement but Aliza recalls words of wisdom her mother once told her, people gonna be finicky, at the end of the day, you kinda have to be selfish, at least just a little, you ain’t gonna get nowhere if all you do is give to everyone but yourself so she calls on Unique Redd to further exemplify this sentiment, introducing us to yet another spitter we possibly may not have known otherwise, Aliza really good at giving people their shot, she has no problem giving props where it’s due, let alone this alley oop opportunities to shoot the shit with her on record.
9. “Live”
I’ve yet to have the pleasure of seeing Aliza “Live” but from what I’ve seen & heard, it’s a sight to see & this outro to her most fiery testimonial of a tape just may become one of her live shows mainstays with TB Robby, a past collaborator, who is also someone we wish to see Aliza continue to work with cause they too got a certain chemistry, like his production was meant for her & with that being a know fact, she comes to capitalize off of it & the result is yet another supremely reigning conclusion to her ever-growing catalog.
Aliza’s pen & ear for beats is getting more disrespectful by the second, it’s like, she heard whatever criticisms may have came her way about her last tape, every artist deals with that in some sort of way & used the hate as fuel to come back even harder on them, bullying the listeners & haters alike into submission & reasonably so since they clearly want to be her so bad so why not make them taste the same dirt she came up from, it seems fitting but what doesn’t seem fitting, is even thinking you could hold a candle to her lyrical capabilities, that of which she really stepped up on this project, offering her most menacing work to date that’ll still leave a lot of men & women in this culture, quivering in their little Ugg boots years after Aliza is done with them & if it was “1 of 1” before, this is a 10 of 10, mics, stars, whatever the hell but it’s a flawless masterclass on brash braggadocio & meticulous lyricism, keep talking to them 1K!
Above the Good Year blimp that reads “The World Is Yours” is where we ask Aliza1K some questions about her recent album.
Frank: Tell us a little bit about how you came up with the title of the album and the cover art?
Aliza1K: Well this is my fourth tape and previous titles reflected how I felt and this one was no different! When you see ALIZA1K you think of " PRESSURE " " 1 OF 1 " & now " SELF MADE "I am all of those things! Scarface is my favorite movie and very much an inspiration to me and who is more Self Made than TONY MONTANA " THE WORLD IS YOURS ! "
Frank: Was the goal to start the new year with a project, or were there other things planned that didn’t go forward?
Aliza1K: Honestly I made the decision to drop a tape back in October and was like fuck it imma drop it on my birthday because this tape is special to me. My birthday is January 19th so boom ! NEW YEAR NEW TAPE. I just finished last-minute features on the tape on January 6th so it's very fresh !!!
Frank: Two features on the tape, one from Vondell & the other from Unique Redd who both did an incredible job on tape, what made your decision in choosing them for the project?
Aliza1K: Actually there's 3 features on the tape. let me first start by saying WE ALL EASTSIDE SO ITS RAW !!!! They were all chosen for different reasons: Von because he pressure and doesn't really have music out and so what better way to step out than on a 1K track! make sure yall tapp in with him with his future Projects 4sho! Unique Redd man she so hard I love her style and I knew I wanted her on the tape because she doing her thing and I love to support other female artists! VELLY was not even a question i knew she was gon be on the tape before I even wrote the song. We killed " Disney " on " 1 OF 1 " & she’s just a dopeass artist and i really believe in her!
Frank: How was the recording process on Self Made different from your previous work? (Pressure, 1 of 1, H.B.I.C.)
Aliza1K: This Recording process was different because my fanbase is bigger than the previous projects so my reach is greater. so going into the project knowing "okay you really gotta show out cause now you really got the attention " you know so it made me even hungrier.
Frank: Was there any track off the project that meant more to you after it was finished?
Aliza1K: Yes! The intro "Worry Bout ME" PROD. BY TMU 3X. I just really love that song it’s probably my favorite just because I love the different flows I used and just talking my shit. Overall this tape just means more because of all the shit I went thru and experienced while making it.
Frank: We’re there any inspirations you had working on this album?
Aliza1K: Hmmm. Honestly, I didn’t have any musical inspirations 4 this tape I just knew I wanted to level up. I titled it SELF MADE because that’s what I am. I would say my inspiration was just life and wanting more than what I know, what I’m used to." H.B.I.C "& " Pressure " were introductions to 1k, " 1 OF 1 " was like okay she’s building & " SELF MADE " is the beginning of my Reign. THERES NOBODY LIKE ALIZA1K & They seen me NOW THEY GON FEEL ME!
Frank: The production off the tape was wild especially to where we haven’t heard you over beats like this, what was it that drove you to choosing this selection?
Aliza1K: Exactly that! I don’t ever wanna be boxed in or labeled. I LOVE TO BE VERSATILE. I’m the type of artist that loves a challenge and loves to be critiqued because it motivates me to push my pen and work on my skills. Every beat you hear is Raw af ! and I can not listen to any artist who doesn’t switch up their flow or run different beats so I don’t expect yall to listen to me if i was to do the same.
Frank: This is your fourth independent tape, what is the feeling like, and did ever imagine it going this far?
Aliza1K: I just wanna Thank GOD ! This is such an exciting feeling and i just feel BLESSED to still be here and to still be able to do what i love and to be receiving the support and love that i do. Being an independent artist is never easy but Life never was so im thankful to have this progress. Im just a girl with a dream and the hussle to get it. When i first started i didnt know anything or anybody every connection and opportunity has been found organically! If i could say anything i would say WHEN YOU HAVE A DREAM GET UP AND GO TAKE IT ! EVEN IF ITS JUST YOU BELIEVING IN IT YOU CAN AND YOU WILL !
Frank: Since last year, you’ve been seeing a different side of you where your more comfortable to rap about sensual subjects like the Crush On You Freestyle and you can hear it throughout the project as well, what was the motivation behind the growth?
Aliza1K: You see so many people tried to rush me into that and tried to change who i was as a person to be more " appealing " but i always said WHEN IM READY ILL RUNNIT ! My main reason was because i wanted to establish ALIZA1K i wanted yall to hear my bars to hear my story to respect me as a female artist yes that was hard and gudda and Raw. & so i feel that with the work i put in over the years i can confidently spit sum sex shit and i wont be labeled as a " Megan Thee Stallion " a " CARDI B " like naaa thats 1K and thats on her Grown woman shit yeah feel me. I also neva listened to music like that I was always listening to Raw trap shit so ofc thats what my style would be you know. I CAN BE A FEMALE AND NOT RAP ABOUT PUSSY ! its not that hard
Frank: Staying on the topic of lyricism, you’ve preach the struggle of growing up without having most things and working hard to get what you have now, do you think that’s what drives you mentality the most to achieve?
Aliza1K: MOST DEFINITELY ! My biggest motivation is my Family ! I want my brother & Sisters to have the world, I want my family to know more than just the Hood, Than working your ass off to barley get by. Its like with the opportunities and people ive come across i catch little glimpses of what i'm capable of with this rap shit & it just makes me more hungrier to get it & Give back !
Frank: The COVID-19 pandemic halted a lot of artists to stop doing shows and take a break with content but you were actually able to still pull through with releases and a few performance during that time, were there any obstacles that you faced and what made you want to continue performing?
Aliza1K: Ofc ! i had a lot of dope shit planned before miss rona strolled in, but the way i be thinking is " WHATS MEANT 4 ME WILL NEVER MISS ME " & so when one door closes 2 more open. These arent ideal times for anybody but i make do with whatever is thrown at me. I stay very active on social medias to make up 4 times shows are cancelled and just not possible. My decision to still preform is that music is everything to me this how i eat this is my career. I just follow precautions and do my dance n dip.
Frank: One of the shows you performed at recently was with Kirko Bangz who is an artists you looked up to growing up, what was the feeling like and will we be seeing a kirko & aliza record soon?
Aliza1K: YES ! Oh my gosh it was truly a dream come true. I used to see him every year at car shows. So to go from watching him from the crowd to Performing in front of him and a crowd that knew me and was singing along to songs I WROTE it was unreal. It motivated me to go even crazier and make more moves. & Fuck yeah imma work till HE wants a song with 1K! IM READY TO WORK 4 IT ALL!
Frank: What’s one thing you want people to takeaway from the album?
Aliza1K: THAT ALIZA1K IS HERE TO STAY AND THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING! THE WORLD IS YOURS BUT ITS MINE 4 THE TAKING!
Frank: Your not one to shy away from following up releases with visuals, any chance you can tell us if you have one on the way?
Aliza1K: ALIZA1K " LIVE " Prod. By TB ROBBY VISUAL SHOT BY KID AVID DROPPING JANUARY 19TH!
Frank: Will we be seeing Aliza1k doing anything outside of music this year?
Aliza1K: YES I'M STARTING AN ONLYFANS !!!! Naahh i’m just playing uhmm i guess well see what I run into I definitely wanna get into acting and dancing one day but for now my main focus is getting my music off the ground!
Frank: Are there any artists or producers you want to work with later this year?
Aliza1K: YES! VENOTHEBUILDER is one of my favorite local producers! & Artist wise hmmm I’ve tapped in with so many artists about collabs so I guess yall will see with time!
Frank: What’s next for Aliza1K, any goals you hope into reaching for 2021?
Aliza1K: ALIZA1K IS COMIN 4 EVERYTHIN SHE WORKED 4 & MORE! New Music, New Videos Bigger Shows! Mala Luna is still on my list and Imma just keep Pushing my pen and Building My Brand My Name 1K!
