Clivia Demo 10th Anniversary celebrated in the 210
On the second leg of his Clivia Demo 10th anniversary tour, Isaiah Rashad came back to familiar territories since during his initial tour rollout, Texas was absent from the dates but he made sure if he continued the tour then the Lone Star state would not miss the opportunity to see him back on stage again. San Antonio hadn’t seen Isaiah Rashad since his “Lil’ Sunny’s Awesome Tour” landed back in 2021 but for a lot of us, day one fans, seeing this mixtape that made us fans of his music celebrate its tenth anniversary was something we didn’t want to miss.
From the jump, this would be our first time back to the Aztec Theatre since its newly renovated VIP area which we recommend to take part in or upgrade to for any future shows you plan to attend in the venue. The lines wrapped around the block with fans anticipating to hear some of the favorite hits off his debut like “R.I.P. Kevin Miller”, “Heavenly Father”, “Brad Jordan”, & many more, where walking to the entrance you could already hear attendees conversating which track he plays first and last. The show opened up to Panga Sound’s own JOAQU.N on the 1s & 2s spinning for Yakiyn who donned a jeweled face mask for the first half of his performance before unveiling his face and turning the sea of new & existing fans into the wave of his fandom. Up next was TDE signee Ray Vaughn who started with an introduction stating that he was sure that many people attending did not know who he was but by the end of his set you were going to be up to speed & adding him to your new favorite rapper list. Ray turned doubters into believers in an incredible set, from suave opening lines to star-studded lyricism that shocked the crowd in realizing that they needed to be more familiar with Ray Vaughn ASAP. At last, the headlining act himself Isaiah Rashad would make his way out and get right to performing, with his soul out on stage and his heart in the crowd this was a show worth experiencing. He kept fans going crazy in every minute of his set even till the end when he broke out on stage parading around the venue to his former TDE label mate Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” record. He intimately shared his growth with the crowd, from his first thoughts in creating this debut project to seeing it now become a classic among hip-hop fans, and announced that a new project was in the works and slated to be released later this year. The fans supported Isaiah Rashad from start to finish and he showed his appreciation by giving them a show they wouldn’t forget.
I do have to give a big shoutout to the wonderful team at the Aztec Theatre for always holding us down and the fans attending the events. It’s a good feeling to walk into a venue and be treated with great hospitality and the attendees around us spoke very highly of their time in the Aztec doors so we thought we end with a special shoutout to the staff and workers who helped make this venue of the best in the city.
