Hidden Gems: Reek & Sage

One of the most formidable duos in the last few years comes from within The Trees of San Antonio, TX. Reek & Sage have created a substantial catalog since they've been in the music scene together, which both of them previously had been promising individuals in already. Once they linked up, though, the rest was history. Reek is behind the smooth philosophical wordplay of pimpin at its finest that creates the stunning vision of his pen game at work. Sage is behind the soundscape that shifts his production to flooding it with nature's progressive feelings in their ambitious solitude that they gift to the world.

Their creative direction has characteristically created a sable sense of content from them with over-pleasing sounds and viewings to go along with their array of records sealed in an echelon placement here in the city. Seen through numerous outlets, Reek & Sage have had their work of art excelled from countless sessions they've done in-house with a selection of tastemakers, producers, and vocalist in attendance. They have aligned themselves with frequent collaborators Big Beautiful Williams, SayJackson, Lone Kendall, King Khali & Frito Gang members Malcolm Whitelow, Niko2K, Tonsoul & Levicantsing to help create their five projects, “Free Market”, “Chapter 2Wo”, “Believe In The Trees”, “At A Time Like This” & their latest magnum opus: “The Beautiful Hour”.

This cycle has been a change of pace of how music is constructed here in San Antonio, yet also creating an embodiment of classics that set the direction differently from most of their peers. They've made a new essence of sound in their music, from cannabis consumption sessions to therapeutic deliverance that touches on the subject of romance, realism, & positivity in their perpetual lifestyles. Reek & Sage have left a stamp in 2020, and as rocky as the year has been, their music has uplifted many others like myself in these troubled times. I know for 2021, they will expand on their most recent success and pay it forward for their undying fans to continue believing in the trees.
