Larry June & Cardo - Cruise USA (Album)

At the start of May, San Fran artist Larry June released a project titled “Cruise USA” with frequent collaborator Cardo that shifted into gear of being a favorite for many listeners to enjoy during their quarantine schedule that kept the wheels rolling through with melodic intake and mellow inducing sounds that have this recent tape a memorable listening experience.

Top-down in the two-seater with 8-tracks to fill the outside void of staying in being safe kind of the same feeling that the video game inspired to do when we weren’t old enough to drive a car but wanted the thrill of going fast by any means necessary. Larry June & Cardo being a dynamic duo to spill out the jolting side of the west while beating the boards with the production of sensational rhythmic make the mark intentional of curating a drive (no pun intended) of giving out cruise content to appreciate. Features from artists like Black C, Herm Lewis & Leimert Park icon Dom Kennedy, bring in a fantastic feeling hugely inspired by the LA sound that I use to hear back in high school and create a new form of cadence to see uplifted once again in the charismatic manner that is Larry June’s signature tone. Being the second release from him this, we know Larry June had a successful 2019 that he hopes to go beyond, which gives me insights to anticipate future releases to be seen in the real soon.
