Ape $terling - K.I.P. (Money Don’t Grow On Trees) (Album)

The soulful wood grain gripper “E-Z” kicks things off then quickly switches up to the sluggish minimalist trap musings of “Knew Dat” wielding ridiculous one liners like “look like she from Bikini Bottom with that bubble butt”, yeah, he said that and he means it, hilarious and that wit is all throughout to melting soundscapes of the lyrically acrobatic “Heat”.

Odes to idols “Word To Weezy”, introspection on “Rock Bottom”, “Trial$”, the anecdotal storytelling of “D.O.A.R.N.”, taking a firm stand on “Mlk”, the importance of the skits and interludes, especially “Knowledge Is Power”, probably the most powerful aspect of this album and its spoken word.

Money doesn’t grow on trees, we gotta see the forest before the trees and realize what our purposes are rooted in and figure out how to maneuver this world in a way where we’re reimbursed for all the hard work we put in, this is the sound of blood, sweat & tears being worth it in the end, it’ll all play off eventually, just stay determined.
