Paul Wall & Statik Selektah - Give Thanks (EP)

After releasing a project with Bun B earlier in the year, Staik Selektah decided to link up with another Houston veteran to give thanks to the blessings received in the year and who better than the People’s Champ Paul Wall to deliver a season changing project right before Thanksgiving feast to devour a heap of flows that is enjoyed greatly for the coldest time of the year.

Complied in 7-tracks, Paul Wall fits in perfectly with the production provided by Staik Selektah since this is a different range from where we’ve seen Paul at before but no need to worry as the Houston All-Star adapts in this refreshing elements and transpire his southern style to the boom bap drums that is admired greatly in the EP. Using his signature slang to be the intro of the project by channeling the late great Sean Price and inciting the line “Whut It Dew” throughout, Paul Wall conveys a collection of rhythmic flows that showcase his diversity to be heighten with his ability to a savage behind the mic especially in tracks like “OverCame”, “Are You Willin?” & the outro “Sea The Shore” that all shed light on the Iceman presence. With features from artists like B-Real, CJ Fly, Benny The Butcher, Termanology, Haile Supreme & Mia Jae that help with the assist by bringing in an unique cadence to tracks and help build a welcoming feeling to the project throughout.

I’m thankful to have seen this collaborative EP happen and hope to see Staik Selektah work more with Texas artists as we begin to enter the near year (crosses fingers for Slim Thug collab tape). Above will be the EP for you to stream and be sure to share the project around on all available social media platforms. (Salute) - Frank Campos
