Look Travis The WAVEZ Wrote This (Documentary Review)

Earlier in the week it was announced that Travis Scott would be releasing a documentary on Netflix titled “Look Mom I Can Fly” that would be taking you behind the scenes of him at the ending stages of the Bird Eye View tour, his beginning process of creating the Astroworld album & festival while taking moments in his life to ponder on his childhood beginnings, his wife Kylie Jenner and the birth of his daughter Stormi Webster with ending the doc showing us his stage performance at the Super Bowl including his time backstage at the Grammy’s where he thought all his hard work came to a halting loss (more on that later).

Emotions ran freely while watching this documentary since I can tell you the first time I heard Travis Scott, the first performance I've seen from him and what it meant to me personally seeing someone for the state I’m from make it to be one of the biggest stars in music today and will become an icon the way an older generation looks at Michael Jackson, Prince, Freddie Mercury and James Brown.

Before embarking on his most recent success he showed us clips of him as a kid first playing on the drums, to performing for a crowd of 20 people to now seeing his sold out shows full of ragers who completely will go crazy for the site of the legend in the making. He then proceeds to show us the start process of the Astroworld album with his reaction to such tracks like Bystanders, Stop Trying To Be God and Drake’s verse for Sicko Mode that is very relatable since i’m sure we all had similar reactions when we first heard these tracks.

After the release of the Astroworld album, it was on to the creative process of building the inaugural Astroworld Fest as it was inspired by the previously destroyed amusement park in Houston that Travis bought back to life where he received much praise in his city including getting the day Nov 18th to be the official Astroworld Day by the mayor of Houston. Travis Scott then shared with us his remarkable journey from starting out as a Houston native who dreamed big and cared for his family to now launching a festival that mimic one of his greatest childhood memories and seeing it accomplish in many ways that include getting a key to the city of Houston.

He also takes shares moments in his personal life with first entering into fatherhood when he and Kylie Jenner welcome Stormi Webster to the world and from there he goes into deep breakdowns of his time performing at the Super Bowl which is a huge accomplishment then entering his time at the Grammy’s where unfortunately he was not awarded that night. He took the loss pretty hard but at this time during the doc I questioned that, Travis Scoot had accomplish so much throughout the time frame discuss in the documentary that anybody viewing it felt inspired. I can tell you I was inspired without a doubt that I can shine like that one day if I put in the work and the effort to see these accomplishment go through and Travis if you read this I want you to think about this: would you rather have that Grammy or the viewing of a crowd at your show that mirrors 500,000 awards together enjoying your music.

I think I know the answer to that…

Down below will be the trailer for the documentary to see what you’ve been missing if you’ve never experience a Travis Scott show and to see the growth of an artist who be the greatest to ever do it.

Thank You Travis Scott.
